How can two entities be designed to counter divisiveness while maintaining unity in its visual language, and even space? The Tang Space / Shang Gallery meets all the criterias as a property gallery and learning centre. Chosen and labelled in Mandarin, the names mean admiration and hall. It may not be known to many, but it also pays subtle tribute to the owners’ names - whose last names are ‘Ang’.

In order for the space to accommodate the occasional large groups, modular panels can be shifted to create a whole new dimension for the space’s intent. From an office and property gallery to learning centre and private functions, the Tang Space / Shang Gallery enables it all by striking the right balance.

To realise an impact functionally and aesthetically, both the gallery and space were introduced with their distinct colours - terracotta and blue. The emphasis draws a fine line between one space from another. This gives enough exclusion and room for each to shine when they’re not binded as one.

画廊与学习中心。两者兼存，独树一格。

如何设计让两个独立的空间兼存，甚至在视觉与空间上毫无违和感？ “堂”空间与“赏”画廊正是符合以上设计标准的产业画廊兼学习中心。学习空间取名“堂”，即有着厅堂的意思；而画廊则取名“赏”，带有欣赏的意思。这两个字最微妙之处，正是皆源于业主姓氏“Ang”的谐音。

为了使空间能够容纳偶尔成群到访的客人，模块隔板可以随意移动，区隔出所需的空间。从一个办公室和物业画廊，到学习中心和私人活动场所，“堂”空间与“赏”画廊通过保持适当的平衡实现了这一切。

为了划分个别空间的功能以及美学特质，画廊和学习中心分别采用了独特的色彩-陶土色和蓝色作为象征色调。两个空间之间仅以一条线分界，让个别空间在独立使用时自成一格。
