Within the canvas of a bungalow house remodel, an experiential narrative comes to life. The clients, a couple accompanied by their vibrant 4-year-old daughter, embarked on a collaborative journey with the architect ADA (A Design Atelier) and Groundwork Design. Drawing inspiration from the architectural concept of a "jewel box," this exceptional dwelling is a choreography of space, artfully crafted to delight and accommodate diverse thematic experiences through the interplay of spatial compression and expansion.

The journey begins with an unassuming foyer, setting the stage for the revelation of a grand, double-volume living hall on one side, and a discreet and intimate tea room on the other. The element of surprise is a recurring theme, epitomized by a concealed door hidden among cabinets, which opens into a secluded 'cove.' This secret sanctuary is designed for leisure, cinematic immersion, and spa-like serenity, transforming the home into an ever-evolving canvas of experience.

Guided by client dialogues and an acute understanding of their aspirations and lifestyle, our design focuses on nurturing hobbies and familial bonds. Beyond addressing the functional requirements of the house, we have created a light-filled, well-ventilated pavilion that seamlessly integrates with the outdoor landscape, providing a versatile space for relaxation, a myriad of activities, and special occasions. Adding to the tapestry of family life, the 'peekaboo' kids' zone, adorned with playful settings, inspires joy and meaningful interactions, laying the foundation for cherished family memories. The dwelling also boasts Japanese and European-inspired guest rooms, serving as retreats for family and guests, imbuing the home with a sense of transcendent wanderlust.

In its entirety, this project humbly delves deeper than surface aesthetics, striving to resonate with the intricate tapestry of modern lifestyles and preferences. It's an exploration of the interplay between art and habitation, a reimagining of the very essence of 'home.'
